When you request a quote, complete a form, call us, or email us, we may collect:

  • Project details such as building type, building use, dimensions or estimated square footage, jobsite location (city, state or province, and ZIP or postal code), timeline, and budget range.
  • Planning details you choose to share, such as whether you own the land for the building and whether financing is in place, including the general type of financing.
  • Other information such as how you heard about Steelsmith, plus any comments, questions, drawings, or files you send us.
  • Communication preferences, including whether you would like to receive more information from Steelsmith.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and general location (such as city or region) based on your IP address. We collect this information using cookies, pixels, server logs, and similar technologies.

Information From Other Sources

We may receive information about you from referral sources and business partners, such as a general contractor, architect, developer, or manufacturer who refers your project to us, as well as from review platforms and publicly available sources.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, bank or credit card numbers, or health information through the Site. Please do not submit this type of information through our forms.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to quote requests, questions, and other inquiries.
  • Prepare estimates, pricing, proposals, designs, and engineering for your project.
  • Provide and manage our design-build, construction, concrete, metal roof replacement, and related services.

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site, including measuring traffic and the performance of our content and advertising.
  • Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and misuse of the Site.
  • Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. The Site uses the following types of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies that allow the Site and its forms to function properly and securely.

  • Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Steelsmith, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

Under some state privacy laws, allowing advertising partners to collect information through cookies and pixels for targeted advertising may be considered "sharing" or a "sale." You can opt out of this activity as described in Section 3 and Section 10.

6. Text Messages

If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about your inquiry, quote, or project. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for assistance. Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

7. Email Communications

If you opt in to receive more information from Steelsmith, we may send you emails about our buildings, services, and company news. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send you messages related to an active quote or project.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including responding to your inquiry, completing your project, supporting warranty and service obligations, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including SSL encryption on the Site. However, no website, transmission over the internet, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Canadian residents. If your project is located in Canada, you may request access to and correction of your personal information and may withdraw your consent to our use of it, subject to legal and contractual limits, by contacting us using the details below.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to Other Websites

The Site may contain links to websites operated by others, including manufacturers, permitting resources, and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites.

13. Visitors Outside the United States

Steelsmith is based in the United States, and the Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
